Elgin Industries is looking for a Control Room Operator to join our dynamic team located in Elgin, Illinois!

As a Control Room Operator you will tend furnaces that perform hardening, carburizing, annealing and tempering of steel. Perform Secondary Operations, such as shot blasting, tumbling, racking, straightening, preparing loads and washing.
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Operates all heat treat furnaces.
• Operates parts washers.
• Operates shot blasters.
• Operates tumblers.
• Operates forklifts, overhead cranes.
• Handles related paperwork and sign-offs.
• Assists other heat treaters as required.
• Makes and brakes down loads.
• Performs minor maintenance as required.
• Fills in for absent employees.
High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

What you’ll do?
In this self driven, hands on role, you will be responsible for managing and directing all financial aspects of our organization. With the support of two administrative accounting positions, you will be the key core person responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing financial controls, and providing strategic guidance to drive profitability and operational efficiency. In addition to managing the company’s cash flow, including cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and capital expenditure planning, including ROI calculations expected and achieved, you will be the go-to expert for managing various aspects of the accounting function. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor departmental budgets, providing guidance on cost control measures and financial performance
